![]() Welcome to the Department of Art History THE DEPARTMENT offers courses and degree programs (B.A., M.A., and Ph.D.) covering the art and architectural traditions of Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Pacific. The program provides a broad perspective for a critical understanding of art and its relationship to history and culture. The undergraduate program prepares students for graduate studies in art history; it also leads to opportunities in the business world, art museums, and galleries. The graduate program offers concentrated studies, working in close relationship with faculty members. It prepares students for careers in teaching, museum curation and direction, library science, and/or visual resources management.
